I'm going to go in-depth about the meanings of the ranks.
Pokemon Trainer: A boy or girl above the age of ten that travels all over the many reigons, training and battling with their Pokemon. Must accept all challenges. They can have up to six Pokemon of any type.
Gym Leader: Gym leaders are adults who command centers known as Pokemon gyms. All willing trainers may participate in a gym battle to prove their skills. They have five Pokemon of one type.
Coordinators: Coordinators dress up their Pokemon and train them to show off their moves in a stylish fashion. They compete in Pokemon contests and Grand festivals for the prized ribbons. They usually have two Pokemon.
Mediator: The contest Judges.
Elite 4 Member: An elite 4 trainer is one of the best Pokemon trainers in the region. All trainers that have secured all eight gym badges for that region can battle the elite 4. They have five Pokemon of a certain type.
Champion: The best of the best. Any trainer who has beatent the Elite 4 may battle the Champion. If the challenger wins, he/she becomes the new Champion and the previous champion trains as a normal trainer until he/she can regain his/her prestigious title. They have six Pokemon of various types.
Ranger: Pokemon rangers pretect the environment and all of the Pokemon. They have one permanent parter. Take Jade, my canon, for exampole. Her partner is a Starly. Starly always travels with her. Other Pokemon a ranger captures can be used to help them once, but then returns to the wild. Once a year, a top Ranger, like any one of the canons, goes to the ranger school in Almia to teach an Outdoor Class.
Teachers: They teach the hopeful future rangers.
Operators: They help the rangers by healing their stylers and giving them mission details.
Professors: Pokemon trainers come to them for advice.
